Blanking Plugs for Transducers with Removable Inserts

A blanking plug is designed to be used in a transducer housing when the active insert has been removed for storage or cleaning.

Some housings have integral valve assemblies to slow water ingress when an insert is removed. This valve is a temporary measure to facilitate the replacement of the insert by the blanking plug. Do not rely on the valve for more than a very brief period.

Remove inserts with paddlewheels and replace with a blanking plug when the boat is not being used, to prevent marine growth on the paddlewheel.
